Director of Compensation and Benefits at Castle Metals

The Director of Compensation and Benefits is responsible for efficiently managing and providing competitive benefits to the workforce as well as for managing and implementing the corporate compensation policy, including the processing of payroll.

Review benefit plans and make recommendations for plan changes, additions, or deletions. Ensure that existing plans are in compliance with Government regulations and standards.
Review overall compensation plans and make recommendations as appropriate.
Oversee the administration of the merit budget, review proposed branch and department budgets, make recommendations throughout the year regarding promotions, transfers, and other changes from the budget.
Develop, maintain, and interpret incentive plans for all positions, review calculations from corporate accounting, and make recommendations regarding plan changes.
Develop and prepare benefit communications to educate employees about the benefits available, the value of the benefits, and how to access the benefits. This includes overseeing the annual open enrollment process.
Respond to employee questions, inquiries, issues or problems that are not resolved through normal channels.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, filing of taxes with the federal and state governments, informational filings required by various government agencies, and processing of garnishments as ordered by the courts. This includes all interfacing with the time and attendance system.
Ensure the integrity of the HRIS system, as well as make recommendations for improvements in providing HRIS solutions to problems.
Supervise and provide direction to subordinate staff.
Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the human resources team.

Desired Skills & Experience
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or business or similar field required
A Master’s degree in business or human resources preferred

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
Strong interpersonal effectiveness with ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of an organization
Solid presentation and organizational skills
Strong collaboration abilities
High level of personal and professional integrity
