Project Engineer Fisheries and Oceans

Permanent position. One position is with the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), Maritime and Civil Infrastructure located in Sarnia, ON. One position is with the Dept. of Fisheries & Oceans (DFO) Small Craft Harbours, located in Winnipeg, MB. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used for future same or similar indeterminate or temporary appointments in DFO & CCG.

A candidate may be appointed even though she/he does not meet any or all of the following asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria may be desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the candidate/individual to be appointed. Prepares plans, specifications, and estimates of goods, services and construction contracts.
Carries out trials, tests and analytical modeling studies, and prepares technical reports.
Conducts regional inspections, and reviews third party technical documentation.
Provides project management services.
By providing input and recommendations to senior engineers, contributes and participates in life-cycle portfolio management for regional assets.
Recommends proposed changes to specifications and materials for use in construction, maintenance and repair projects.
Consults with clients and stakeholders to develop needs statements and project estimates.
Leads or participates in internal or external work teams for projects.
Coordinates the work of contractors and consultants.
Conducts environmental assessments for projects and ensure that they are recorded in the public registry.

Salary: $63,356 to $79,129
