The Regional Manager, Regional Education and Performance Group is responsible for implementing Government’s priorities in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Schools, both English Medium and Maori Medium Education. This includes delivering an intensive targeted programme for increasing the number of Maori and Pasifika children in quality early childhood education and delivering the Government’s National Standards policy for primary education.
There will be a priority to work effectively and closely with iwi across the Central South region integrating and aligning the key education priorities with those being developed by iwi.
A fundamental purpose of the Regional Education and Performance Group is focussed on supporting the lift in performance in ECE services and schools to improve the progress and achievement of children and young people.
As a Regional Manager you will be:
Engaging closely with education and community sectors to identify key areas of priority and focus.
Exploring effective ways to invest in building capacity and capability to improve the results of children and young people.
Leading the alignment of a range of Ministry services to improve outcomes for children and young people within various education options.
Leading a series of changes resulting from the Ministry’s change in direction, challenging economic times and a demand for improved services.
Leading the regional contribution to lifting Maori student achievement, through ensuring active prioritisation of activities and resources to work in this area.
