The Senior Financial Analyst – Financial Reporting, is accountable to the Director, Finance to perform analysis, recommend options, and present findings to various stakeholders throughout the organization in relation to the transition to Quarterly Financial Reporting (QFR). The objective of the transition project is to enable CCC to report quarterly financial results in compliance with QFR standards and directives starting June 30, 2011. The Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Reporting is part of the Core Project Team, which is responsible for the implementation of QFR, and will liaise with the multiple departments within CCC, as well as other stakeholders as required.
Beyond the initial transition to QFR the Senior Financial Analyst – Financial Reporting will be involved in other aspects of all financial reporting including monitoring and assisting with the on-going maintenance, application and improvement of internal controls to ensure that the accounting policies and financial reporting requirements are met are consistent with and comparable to industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized university with an acceptable degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or relevant work experience
CA, CMA or CGA designation is required with an active membership in good standing.
English essential and bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
8 to 10 years of demonstrated relevant work experience including progressive technical accounting experience involving the analysis and application of accounting standards including quarterly reporting
Significant experience in preparing financial statements, and developing notes to financial statements and reports, including quarterly and annual reporting, in accordance with applicable accounting standards
Experience in the development and implementation of financial controls, policies and processes including monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting processes
Significant experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the implementation of CICA Handbook recommendations and guidelines
Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) a definite asset
Salary: $87,078 to $96,543
