The Executive Office of Education (EOE) in partnership with the governor's office and the Commissioners and the Departments of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE), education and care (ECE), and higher education ( DHE) to create a 21st century system of public education that prepares students for higher education, work and life in a global economy and global society.
The Communications Director will work with senior management to develop and implement communications strategies to broaden the impact of the priorities of the governor's agenda for education. The Communications Director will coordinate and direct the Executive Office of Education (EOE) overall communications strategy and act as liaison between EOE and various education associations, community organizations, local and national elected officials and the business community on strategic initiatives secretariats.
Candidates must have at least five years full time or equivalent part-time, supervisory or management experience in business administration, business administration or public administration.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess
3 to 5 years experience in communications or public relations, as a writer or as a reporter
knowledge of state government
knowledge of the Administration’s education agenda and priorities
demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with the media
excellent oral and written communication skills
ability to think and respond quickly
ability to write and edit under tight deadlines
demonstrated ability to clearly summarize and communicate complex data
ability to establish collaborative relationships
Salary: $41,017.08 to $93,731.29 Annually
