You will conduct complex preliminary studies/surveys to determine the feasibility, scope and cost of studies concerning general and specialized manufacturing methods/procedures. Analyze processes or methods currently in effect. Develop and design statistical data collection methods, investigate correction request assignments and conduct methods improvement investigations, as related to methods of operations, production problems, work standardization and simplification, cost of operations, engineered standards, facilities and equipment and manpower utilization. Investigate and recommend new/revised tooling, capitol equipment gages and physical facilities. Prepare reports of completed studies. Consolidate and integrate reports and recommendations to officials and personnel to provide advice and assistance in the installation and maintenance of new or improved manufacturing procedures, methods or techniques. Evaluate effectiveness of changes and recommend further improvements as needed.
The specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this action. Specialized Experience minimum qualifications in one or more of the following: strong knowledge in various manufacturing processes (eg, machining, manufacturing, heat treatment, assembly, molding, plating, etc. .) Experience-time study with a stopwatch. Experience and ability to conduct, analyze and disseminate engineering studies (methods and studies standards). Experience in providing recommendations to senior management, with the intention and ability to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of these changes. Knowledge and skills in the application of standardized rules, procedures or operations requiring a background in industrial engineering principles, concepts, methods and equipment. The applicant may be qualified by two full years of graduate studies or a master (directly related to the work of the position) meets the requirements for GS-9.
Salary: $42,960.00 - $74,628.00 /year
