Area Director Rural Housing Service

The Regional Director provides leadership for rural development (RD) program that covers rural loans and grants, processing and maintenance. Provides advice and guidance on credit, finance and program management to rural communities and agency clients. Supervise office staff area.

Main requirements: 

U.S. citizenship. Males born after 31/12/1959 must be registered with Selective Service. Background investigation is required. Occasional travel may be required. A probationary period of one year is required. Relocation expenses will not be paid.

The incumbent plans, directs and evaluates the operations in the area served. Conducts program reviews to identify trends and problems. Supervises and directs the Area Office. Responsible for planning, prioritizing and assigning work, evaluating employee performance, providing guidance, identifying training needs and approve work schedules and holidays. Works closely with the Director of the State and the staff director. Ensures that funding is targeted to those areas and programs that will maximize the mission of Rural Development, that equality of opportunity is extended to all applicants for loans / grants, and that all beneficiaries of the program are treated fairly. Directs marketing efforts to promote rural development programs and services.
