The Sustainable Development Mechanisms (SDM) Programme supports the implementation of the Protocol mechanisms theKyoto, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI). The standard control unit is responsible for providing technical advice on setting standards, including methodologies, tools, methodologies and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, the incumbent will make the process of implementation of decisions withinthe on procedures, the priorities identified by the supervisor, preparing reports and documentation, and technical options on the issues related to the work of the executive Boardand its panels and working groups of a system to manage the processing of applications bodiesrelated regulatory standards. In particular, the incumbent:
Provides substantive and technical contributions in the evaluation process, including methodology revisions, deviations, and clarifications on issues related to methodologies and monitoring plans; Preparesdraft recommendations, proposals, options and other documents to that they are available on timeto the CDM Executive Board, panels and working groups established by the CDM Executive Boardin the area of specialization;
Research, analysis of issues and recommended options based on statistical data and other information gathered from various sources to facilitate answers to questions from the public and decision-making panels and working groups of the CDM Executive Board;
Provides administrative and technical support for meetings, workshops, conferences, etc. byproposing agenda topics, identifying and proposing participants, preparation of presentations documentsand background, handling logistics, etc.; Participate in the maintenance of the CDM web interface and workflow improvements as by changes in procedures; Help to undertake outreach activities including participation in the awareness and capacity building exercises as required, participate in workshops, conferences and other relevant eventsand making presentations on assigned topics / activities
• The requirements of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent) in engineering, environmental economics, environmental sciences or a related discipline. • At least three (3) years experience directly related. Two (2) years of relevant experience in the workplace aninternational is an asset. Experience working in the project area-basedmechanisms, science methods, engineering and the environment is an asset. • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, a working knowledge of UN languages other Anasset
