WIPO Japan Office Global Infrastructure Sector

Under the supervision of Deputy Director General in charge of the global infrastructure sector, the incumbent is responsible for organizing and directing the work of the WIPO Office in Japan (WJO) in Tokyo (in office), and performs in particular, the following tasks: 
Main tasks:
(a) manage and supervise the activities of WJO which include provision of information on WIPO, the promotion of WIPO's services in Japan, and front-end functions WIPO helpdesk for users of WIPO's global services in Japan that the PCT, Madrid, Arbitration and Mediation and Global Infrastructure and Information Services;
(b) plan and support the implementation of efficient and effective operations by WJO in consultation with the WIPO headquarters to contribute to the strategic goals of WIPO in facilitating coordination between the headquarters of WIPO and the Government of Japan in particular for the implementation of activities financed by Funds-in-Trust and other activities undertaken by the Government of Japan and stakeholders of intellectual property in Japan, (c) represent the WIPO to training sessions, international conferences and seminars / workshops in Japan and other countries in Asia and the Pacific to prepare and submit documents on behalf of WIPO;

QUALIFICATIONS 
Education: University degree. Experience: At least twelve years of experience in intellectual property. Familiarity with the work on intellectual property authorities responsible for the registration of patents or trademarks is highly desirable. Skills: Ability to manage financial and human resources. Ability to coordinate and ensure effective liaison on large multi-stakeholder projects for the benefit of all stakeholders. Proven ability and skills in management, administration and planning, and experience working in a multinational, multicultural environment. Ability to operate and maintain contacts at high levels is highly desirable.


Salary: USD 80,629 to 86,791

Location : Tokyo
