Communications Intern United Nations Development Programme

Under the direction and supervision of the Communications Specialist, the intern will support the implementation of the strategy of the UNDP country office communications to promote public and media outreach. In the annual work plan of the business unit will have to execute the objectives and results of the work plan of the country office.

Responsibilities 
Assist in the regular updating of the UNDP web site and intranet in a box; assist in advocacy and awareness of the MDGs UNDP mandate, mission and purpose, assist in the dissemination awareness materials, including the Report on Human Development and other UN / UNDP publications Assist in coordination with the communications specialist, production of materials for marketing / promotion programs and projects, organization of round tables, press conferences, briefings, interviews, launches, etc. and providing logistical support to events, assist in the creation of an electronic photo library; Other Tasks related can be affected by the Communications Specialist and other staff appropriate direction of the country office.

Demonstrate skills UNDP's commitment to the mission, vision and values; Displays cultural sensitivity, gender, religion, nationality, race and age and adaptability. Functional Competencies: Development and operational effectiveness: learning to perform a variety of activities, and good research skills Demonstrates strong skills in oral and written communication. Leadership and Self-Management: Focuses on result for the unit and responds positively to critical feedback and differing points of view, approaches work with energy and a positive and constructive attitude, keep calm, in control and good humored even under pressure.

Required skills and education experience: 
A bachelor's firm offer of admission or the completion of first year master's in journalism, publishing, media and communication or related fields. Experience: Experience in media and communication units in the institutions and organizations; Experience in the use of computers and office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.) Ability to write reports, organize and coordinate events.
