You manage an efficient and effective service to children and families in need to ensure the delivery of legal services to protect children. Part of the role will be to take the responsibility to monitor official team and ensuring that the practice of high quality is maintained. Risk management is essential to the job with a good knowledge of procedures for All Wales Child Protection. You should Prosser a DipSW or equivalent, have at least 4 years after qualification experienceof social work in a voluntary or statutory, and have previous experience of management and supervision of staff. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Young Offenders (1974) and is subject to improvements to the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Education / Experience / Knowledge 1.1 has a DipSW or equivalent. 1.2 Management qualification. 1.3 Understanding the principles and practice of the relevant legislation. 1.4 Understanding the political and legal procedures for users of the service. 1.5 Understanding and being able to implement policies and procedures of Newport City Council.
2.1 Have experience four years after qualification (full time or equivalent) experience in social work in voluntary or statutory agency. 2.2 Have previous experience of management and supervision of staff or unpaid capacity. 2.3 Experience means to promote and work in the anti-discriminatory practice.
Skills and competencies 3.1 Ability to supervise and develop staff using a variety of methods. 3.2 Being able to share the work and monitor progress, quality, standards and research results. 3.3 Ability to establish priorities, manage own work progress and other requirements and comparing. 3.4 Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with colleagues, other agencies and clients.
