Background: UNGEI was launched in 2000 at the World Education Forum under the leadership of UNICEF, is important to keep the spotlight on the education of girls. A ten-year review of the initiative indicates that the UNGEI has emerged as an important platform, a partnership of development partners including multilateral and bilateral agencies, International Non-governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations and private sector partners, for advancement of gender equity and equality in education. Although the partnership has evolved differently across the globe in the last decade, three strategies are central to its work, namely technical support and capacity building, policy dialogue and advocacy, and coordination and alignment with the existing aid architecture.
Key skills, technical knowledge and experience required: Advanced university degree in the field of information and knowledge management, information sciences or librarianship. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in knowledge management may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in information and knowledge management field. More than seven (7) years of experience in information and knowledge management, including planning, design, preparation and execution of strategies for knowledge management. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning of the organization of informational systems asset management. Working knowledge of education of all issues and sex is desirable, experience in the field of education and / or sex is an advantage Excellent communication skills - Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English desirable; Fluency in French or Spanish would be an advantage.
