Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Reporting Unit and interface control of the consultant will coordinate and assist with tasks necessary to prepare financial statements including notes to financial statements. Specifically this will be the research and analysis of general ledger activity and financial reports, working on process improvement initiatives, to respond to requests for audit, review and monitoring deliverables in the Division of UNDP accounts, preparation of training materials and support to other Finance / accounting functions as needed.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Audit, the consultant must work with financial information, and control interface modules (FRMIC) to: Provide faster access to financial results, while providing more time is devoted to analysis of information Establish a quality control plan and accountability, including standardized reconciliation process Streamline cycles by effectively distributing the workload and eliminate bottlenecks, redundant tasks and without value-added activities to reduce the volatility of financial data and improve confidence when certifying financial statements
Expected Results: Plan document and the valid state reports pack 2010/2011 revised explanatory notes for the direction of closing 2010/11 improved for 2011 and 2012 for both offices and accounting functions revised business POPP chapter, the necessary guidance and training materials as required. Required skills and education experience in accounting professional qualification from an institute of international renown Accounting (ACA / CA / CPA) advanced degrees in finance administration, accounting or business an asset Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, ideally in an ERP environment. Languages: Fluency and Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset
