Responsibilities The Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration of the Department of Nursing and responsibility for the actions of the planning, implementation and coordination of medical and administrative activities in the UN system. In its attributions, the head nurse is responsible for the following: Clinical Features: Provides smooth day to day operation to go to the clinic, emergency and travel clinic. Provides training for nurses. Help provide programs to promote health and the environment in the fight against child labor and health issues at work. Refer to personnel outside of medical practitioners required.

Medical administrative duties: Assist the medical director and senior officers following Medical Political Rights and procedures concerning medical certificates, medical emergencies, plans for business continuity, crisis management and preparedness medical injuries Work / diseases and medico-legal issues. Evaluates, identifies and recommends the purchase of medical supplies and nursing equipment. Monitoring functions: Manages, supervises and evaluates the performance of nurses. Offers opportunities for nurses to continually update their nursing skills. Oversees the forefront of nursing that may be designated in other UN buildings. General: Perform other related duties as required.

Competencies Professionalism: Knowledge of clinical nursing, business and travel in an international environment. Formal training in CPR and, preferably, in BCLS and ACLS or equivalent medical emergency care. Knowledge of office equipment and major medical ability to use them in emergencies. Knowledge of basic diagnostic equipment and the ability to use them, including experience in the use of electronic medical records systems. Shows pride in work and achievements; demonstrate professional competence and mastery of subject matter, is conscientious and efficient in fulfilling the commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; motivated by professional rather than personal persistence when faced with and difficulties, remains calm in stressful situations. Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.

Education Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in nursing. A university undergraduate supplemented by relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. National Registration and licensing are required. Work Experience At least five years of progressively responsible experience in nursing. Experience in nursing and experience in the management of budgetary allocations are needed. Languages ​​Fluency in English (oral and written) is required, knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official UN language is an evaluation method to enjoy part of the assessment, you may be asked to undergo an exercise knowledge-based written assessment, which can be followed a competency-based interview based on test results.
