Creates and integrates JavaScript, AJAX, ASP and / or PHP elements and the CSS in accordance with technical guidelines as necessary; develops and maintains multimedia products, pages and applications using Web authoring tools and graphics applications and techniques including Dreamweaver and Photoshop, while working within guidelines, checks and tests for multi-browser support (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc..) Written advanced SQL queries, downloads HTML documents converted using FTP software. Ensures that the news stories posted to the News Centre UN are links to source documents on the website of the UN assist in the selection and layout of photos and materials to accompany news stories; monitors, collects and distributes the source material as required working with the offices concerned to ensure access to materials from the United States News. Work Experience At least seven years of experience in programming and web development, database management based platforms and web design is required. Experience working in a deadline-oriented work on web development and design methods, techniques and best practices is needed. Professional experience in database administration and maintenance (SQL), encoding and format programming (ASP, PHP, CSS, Javascript, HTML) is required. The experience of professionals working with Web design tools, including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash animation, graphics and multimedia software applications are needed. Knowledge of WordPress and other new media platforms and consistent access multimedia systems and digital asset management tools and techniques, formats and standards is highly desirable. Knowledge of measurement tools such as the use of Google Analytics is highly desirable. Familiarity with the work of the Organization and its documentation is highly desirable. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required, knowledge of French is desirable.
