The blood transfusion service of the American Red Cross provides a wide range of blood components, plasma derivatives, and transfusion services in hospitals and other medical facilities across the country. The mission of the American Red Cross blood service is to meet the needs of people and provide the safest, most reliable blood and profitable services and plasma through voluntary donations. The American Red Cross National Laboratory Testing Charlotte is seeking candidates for a laboratory assistant. In this position, you will complete the preparation of blood samples for testing, disposal, and shipping. Perform customer communications and process control reagent inventory. Maintain manual and computer records associated with the production or testing. Observe blood Servise American Red Cross policies, procedures and guidelines for safety, quality, identity and purity of the blood supply. Perform all the duties and responsibilities in accordance with standard operating procedures, regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other applicable federal laws, state and local.
Qualifications: * high school diploma or equivalent training required. * Healthcare certification / diploma (ie, medical assistant, nurse, veterinary assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Phlebotomist) * Before laboratory or health care experience desired. * May be required to meet the requirements of the State in particular.
