Civil Engineer

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.

Serves as a designated authorized representative of the Contracting Officer and a staff Civil Engineer in the Quality Assurance Branch, Humphreys Area Office, Construction Div, reviews and evaluates design drawings, design analysis, and specifications award to assure that design is adequate and sound as well as consistent prior to contract with criteria established by higher authority and using agency. Visits construction sites to evaluate all phases of civil, architectural and structural construction to insure technical accuracy for functional requirements, quality of materials, proper construction methods and furnishes engineering advice and guidance to project personnel. Formulates and conducts training sessions for Resident Engineers, Project Engineers and quality assurance personnel concerning construction methods and techniques, quality assurance procedures and technical aspects of contract requirements.
